Xbox 360s ageing DVD format

With the release of Battlefield 3 and the surprise of an optional 1.5GB HD update in order for our Xbox 360 versions to look on par with its counterpart on Ps3, one can only wonder how big their hard drive might need to get by the end of next year.

For many Xbox 360 owners this is not such a big problem as they will have
plenty of space with newer 250GB, but for many of us we don't see why we should of ever had to upgrade from those 20GB consoles (besides RROD), if so then you might as well just use a PC. I have never had to upgrade my 60GB Fat Ps3 and I don't think I ever will. Beside the odd game like Metal Gear Solid 4 most Ps3 games happily play from their humongous blu-ray discs and those that don't certainly have no trouble fitting on the HDD sent out at launch.

I realise it's useless crying about this in 2011 as we all knew that DVD was a shortcoming when blu-ray and HD-DVD came along but that doesn't make it any less frustrating. Earlier this month we Saw RAGE ask us to install 25GB of information, that's already larger than generation one 360s have to give.

All in all I suppose it is not all that big of a deal as 360 owners are still getting the same quality all round... they just might have to invest in a new hard drive once and a while.
